Friday Scouts - 10½ to 14 years old - HQ 7:15pm -9:15pm

Following on from last years disappointing numbers it is encouraging to report that numbers are increasing. We now have 15 Scouts, although retention of cubs after moving on remains an issue.

It is also encouraging to report that we have new young blood from two leaders, Natalie and David. Both are ex scouts of the group, and that is very encouraging. We obviously did something right!!

We have awarded 2 Patrol Leader badges and 5 Swimmer Badges, all stages and are currently working towards the Camp Cook badges.

During the year we undertook a number of activities:

• Attendance at the District 5-a-side football competition
• Entered a team in the District Competition Camp at Dunham Massey, and although cold and wet, we had a lot of fun and learned new skills
• Attended District Camp at Linnet Clough
• We had a Christmas Sleepover at the HQ ending with a wonderful Christmas Dinner, including turkey and all the trimmings, including Yorkshire Puddings!!
• We attended the Pantomime at the Community Centre
• Held joint camp with 6^th Ashton at Bradley Wood

Our aims for the coming year include

·         Retain existing members

·         Recruit new members from cubs and beyond

·         Train the new leaders

·         Hold more camps and more outdoor activities.

·         We are planning a joint summer camp with 6^th Ashton to Hesley Wood for a week in August
